You might not be able to handle your Comcast.net email through third-party applications like Outlook, Google, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and others since we introduced a new checkbox to the Xfinity Connect in order to give our customers better protection.
These applications run the risk of putting your Xfinity ID and password at risk of fraud and other dangers, including the chance that third-party applications could read, download, and delete emails on your behalf.
The security setting is automatically checked if you currently use a third-party tool to read your email. The setting is unchecked and you won’t have access to these programs if you don’t currently use any third-party software. By checking the box and turning on access, you can quickly alter this setting whenever you want.
