If you are able to receive emails but not send them, the outgoing (SMTP) server’s authentication is likely not enabled. Please refer to this post if you are unable to send or receive emails since your IP address has likely been automatically blocked.
There may be a number of causes if Hotmail isn’t receiving emails:
- Users who are still using the outdated Hotmail app won’t get any emails. It is as a result of Microsoft switching from Hotmail to Outlook.
- One possibility is that a hacker gained access to your account and altered your email forwarding settings.
- Another explanation might be that you’ve set up a filter that unintentionally prevents all of your incoming emails.
